Insurance & Payment Options

Rainbow Health recognizes that healthcare can be expensive. We work with our clients to make sure they can access the services they deserve. No client is turned away due to an inability to pay, but the organization is required to collect fees to cover the costs of running the program as well as to remain compliant with State and Federal regulations.

Fees for services vary depending on the services you access. Please talk with the program staff about the out-of-pocket costs associated with the services you will receive. All fees are due at the time of service.

Rainbow Health accepts:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Credit card
  • Debit card
  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
  • Flex Spending Accounts (FSA)

In order to help clients access high-quality mental health services, Rainbow Health has contracted with several health insurance providers and is considered in-network with:

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Optum/Medica/UnitedHealth
  • UCare
  • Minnesota Health Care Plans (MHCP)/Medical Assistance (MA)
  • Medicare
  • Hennepin Health
  • Fairview/Behavioral Health Providers
  • South Country Health Alliance

Please note that just because Rainbow Health is in-network with these payers, we are not able to guarantee coverage. Your insurance provider may hold you responsible for all or a portion of the services – please check with your insurance plan on what type of coverage is available to you and what amounts you may need to pay while receiving services at Rainbow Health.

We are able to provide you with receipts for out-of-network reimbursement with other insurance providers.

No client will be turned away due to an inability to pay. Rainbow Health has MNSure Navigators who can help you determine if you are eligible for coverage through Minnesota Health Care Plans (MHCP) or if you are eligible for other types of assistance in paying for an insurance plan through the MNSure. Clients who are living with HIV can reach out to our Benefits Counseling Program to learn about insurance coverage for them.
