Gift Policy Standards
Use of Donations
All donations to Rainbow Health support our mission to work for equitable health care access and outcomes for people who experience injustice at the intersection of health status and identity. Your donation will be fully honored by its responsible use to further the work of Rainbow Health. Your gift will be processed following our donation policies, the Donor’s Bill of Rights, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
If you wish to make a gift for a specific program, please contact the Director of Advancement before making your gift. They can be reached at email@example.com. Generally, such restrictions cannot be honored for gifts less than $5,000, although there are exceptions. Donations given through campaigns for certain programs will be honored as such.
Rainbow Health may refuse any gift that does not sufficiently benefit the organization, is in conflict with our mission, puts Rainbow Health’s reputation at risk, or is prohibited by law. Refusal is at the discretion of Rainbow Health leadership.
Donation Refund Policy
If you have made an error while making your donation, please alert Rainbow Health immediately. Refunds may be provided within 15 days of the gift. To request a refund, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Returns are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to the same card.
Data Collection & Privacy
Rainbow Health maintains a database of donor and supporter information for the purpose of maintaining relationships, communicating organization developments, and acknowledging contributions. Information is collected by supporter-initiated means, including making a donation, signing up for e-newsletters, attending events, etc. Examples of data kept include phone, email, street address, and preferred names. The content is not shared with any other institution, with the exception of a printing business that mails Rainbow Health communication to its supporters. The database can only be accessed by staff members with a legitimate role in its use. The database provider is a reputable platform utilized by multiple organizations. No personal payment information (eg credit card information, bank account) is retained by Rainbow Health. Any such information is entered directly into EveryAction.com, a third-party encrypted site, and is not used for other purposes. Rainbow Health does not sell, share, or trade donor information.
Donor Information Correction
Rainbow Health strives to acknowledge its donors with correct information. However, human error does occur at times. If we have made an error in any of your contact information, please email email@example.com.
Rainbow health will discontinue contact upon a person’s oral or written request. If you do not wish to receive communication from Rainbow Health any longer or want to be anonymous, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 612–341–2060. Requests will be honored within one week of receipt. Contact information will either be eliminated from Rainbow Health’s database or use of the data will be restricted depending on discontinue request. If you continue to receive communication afterward, please alert us immediately. Rainbow Health will base future communications on the most recent request or contact with individuals.
