Summary of Services Provided

Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM) is a nonprofit agency that provides immigration legal assistance to low-income immigrants and refugees in Minnesota. ILCM also works to educate Minnesota communities and professionals about immigration matters, and advocates for state and federal policies which respect the universal human rights of immigrants. ILCM works at a systems-level to promote fair and just public policies that support immigrant and refugee communities. ILCM works directly with the immigrant community, immigrant advocates, nonprofits, business and civic leaders, law enforcement, and policymakers to increase awareness of the contributions and needs of immigrants and refugees and to advocate for welcoming policies at the local, state, and federal levels.

Looking for legal help? Please call our client intake line at 1-800-223-1368 during intake hours to schedule an appointment to speak to a legal staff member. We cannot give walk-in or drop-in appointments. Read more about ILCM’s intake procedures here.

The following case types are eligible for assistance: DACA renewals, Naturalization, Refugee adjustments, Removal of Conditions based on abuse, Removal Defense, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Temporary Protected Status (Ramsey County residents), T Visa, U Visa, U Visa adjustments, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

ILCM provides services based on their capacity. ILCM has a generally high demand for services. Unfortunately, ILCM may not always be able to assist someone. If they cannot assist you, they will refer you to another trusted organization or immigration attorney.

If you are in jail or calling on behalf of someone in jail or in immigration custody, Call 651-641-1011 during our detention line intake hours to receive assistance, Monday 2 p.m. to  4 p.m. and Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
