John Burggraff, LGSWPsychotherapist
Greetings! I am a recent graduate of the Clinical Social Work Program at Augsburg College. I hold my Graduate Social Work License with the state of Minnesota (#21189). Over the past decade, I have worked as a social worker in the HIV/AIDS community through various support roles. Most of my tenure has been as an HIV/AIDS Medical Case Manager.
My practice focuses on relationships and creating a warm and welcoming space for all who are seeking support. My professional career has included working with people from various identities, cultures, and origins. Coming from an intersectional, client-centered approach, I enjoy working within a trauma-informed, harm reduction, and attachment-based lens and include an interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and elements of CBT and DBT practices in my work. My therapeutic approach includes an eclectic focus that can adjust and evolve to your needs and focus. If you are unsure what the above approaches and therapeutic practices mean? Don’t worry, we can work together to identify and define what is needed for you and your wellness goals.
Outside of work I enjoy reading comic books, playing Dungeons and Dragons, various board games, and biking around the metro area.
