Changes to Legal Services
The Legal Intake Phone Line will no longer accept incoming calls or voicemails – all calls will now be answered by the Minnesota AIDSLine.
Clients with open legal matters with one of our attorneys should call the attorney they have been working with directly or ask the Minnesota AIDSLine staff to help direct their call. The Minnesota AIDSLine can be reached at 612–373–2437 (Metro) or 800–248–2437 (Toll-free) Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
We have instituted a Speak to an Attorney Today day available on Tuesday’s between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. If you would like an immediate answer to a legal question, we encourage you to call in on Tuesday – Minnesota AIDSLine will direct your call.
- All referrals to Legal Services must be done by completing the referral packet at the bottom of the Legal Services page or by calling the Minnesota AIDSLine.
- Referrals are only received by fax at the Legal Intake fax line (612) 373-9178
- All Service Providers including Rainbow Health staff and external Social Worker, Case Managers, etc. are encouraged to download the referral packet at the bottom of the Legal Services page; and submit with required verifications. Service Providers should mark as URGENT any referral packets they submit that may have an urgent external deadline or needing immediate assistance due to a client’s health.
- Clients are encouraged to connect to their case manager to get assistance in completing and submitting a referral. If a client does not have a case manager, Minnesota AIDSLine staff are available to help complete and submit a referral for Legal Services.
We continue to prioritize cases where the client’s health or an external deadline warrants immediate attention.
Social Security Disability Application cases are LIMITED to those eligible under new funding that is LIMITED to people those that are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Please speak to a Minnesota AIDSLine staff before sending a referral.
